If you’ve been seeing the updates from Eventvibe and the other promoters who work the San Diego area, then you no doubt have been flooded with event info. My bank account fears this month. It’s both a blessing and a curse: right now, San Diego has become a huge region for trance music. In fact, trance appears to be picking up everywhere. On the other hand, there are multiple big-name trance producers coming to town in order to spin. It’s brutal on the wallet!

The information is also a little overwhelming. With that in mind, allow me to sum up what’s going on (confirmed) in San Diego for the month of May:

May 7th – Tritonal Therapy Night @ Onyx Room – Victor Dinaire’s Therapy shows have been a big hit. Their last one in April with Aly and Fila was their biggest yet, and it’s not slowing down. For May 7th, their headliner is Tritonal, with supporting local DJs Josh Silver and Genevieve. Josh had some great hard-hitting high-speed stuff spinning to compliment the music Aly and Fila is famous for at the last Therapy Night, and this will be Genevieve’s premiere in Therapy Night. It’s open until 4AM, and is $15 before you get to the door if you get hard-tickets ahead of time. The show is 21+, so keep that in mind.

May 8th – Arty @ Red Circle – This was the big shocker of the month for me. Anyone who has talked to me knows I am a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG fan of Arty. His mixing skills are pretty good as seen on the Anjunabeats Worldwide 03 album, and of course he is most famous for his work in the past year as a producer. He will be spinning at the Red Circle. This show is 18+ (21 and up to drink, of course). The $15 tickets sold out, so expect to pay 20+ if you are still considering.

May 19th – Markus Schulz @ Fluxx – Markus Schulz will be bringing his skills to Fluxx on Thursday, May 19th. As of today, tickets are still $20. Jason Ross and Digitalife will be getting the crowd going before Markus comes on, and it’s bound to be a night of awesome progressive sounds.

May 26th – Ferry Corsten @ Fluxx – They just keep coming!!! Ferry Corsten, who’s recent artist album Right of Way has a ton of tunes I’ve got on repeat right now, will be at Fluxx a week after Markus Schulz. This one’s bound to be one hell of a night.

May 28th – Armin Van Buuren @ Hard Rock Hotel -  ARMIN?! Ladies and gents, if you haven’t heard of Armin and you’ve been listening to trance for more than a year, then I’m ashamed of you. He’s been #1 DJ in the DJ Magazine’s top 100 for four years running, has been touring the world with his Armin Only tour in celebration of his latest artist album ‘Mirage’ (hours of Armin!), AND he just recently celebrated his 500th episode of his radio show ‘A State of Trance’. He’s been on fire recently, and continues to put on some spectacular live shows. He’ll be in San Diego for a special Saturday show as part of Hard Rock Hotel’s Intervention summer pool party series. Tickets just went on sale today, and they are not going to be on sale for very long, so if you want to go to this one, ACT NOW.

May 29th – Above and Beyond @ Hard Rock Hotel – Above and Beyond continues the epic trance weekend in San Diego on Sunday at the Hard Rock Hotel as part of their ‘Group Therapy’ world tour. As with Armin, tickets are not going to be available for very long. Hell, their Hollywood show sold out so fast for May 14th (1 hour, for the record) that they had to add a 2nd day just to support all of the demand. They have quickly become one of the biggest groups in trance, so again, if you want to go, purchase now. Not later.

Quite a month, right? Right. I hope to see you at a few of these!
